After an awesome breakfast at the Beach House and Kiosk in Island Bay, my son and I spent some time on the foreshore looking out towards the beautiful Kaikoura mountains. The sky was clear and the sea was up, so to try and capture a mysterious look I used my Lee Big Stopper 10 Stop ND filter to allow my NX1 to take a long exposure shot. A good day today, delivered an A2 print of my shot of the Island off the coast of Island Bay (Tapu te Ranga) in Wellington, with the Milky Way rising above it. This is the second sale I've made of this print. This shot was planned using PhotoPills on my iPhone to know exactly where and when the core of the Milky Way would be in the night sky on the night of the 9th June 2018. Last night was the St Pats college art sale fundraiser. I sold two framed prints. Not only does the school receive a contribution to its funds, but two satisfied art lovers get prints for their wall. I am v. chuffed :-)
Picked up my first framed prints for sale today. Very exciting. My son goes to St Pats College, Wellington, and I've entered five of my landscape prints in to their annual art sale. I hope that people like them !
